Russian-born actress. Born Vera Nemirov, June 11, 1886, in Edkerternoslav, Russia; died May 8, 1948, in Beverly Hills, California; m. Nathan Gordon.
Immigrated to US at age 7; for a number of years, appeared in the Yiddish theater in NY; as a character actress in motherly roles, best remembered for her performance in the silent-film version of Humoresque (1919); also appeared in vaudeville.
