Bilingual writer, published Gloria victis (Glory to the Vanquished) in French at 18; other works include (poems) Ici-bas (1888), semi-autobiographical novels Coeur de femme (1891) and Die Friedensucherin (1908), and the collected novellas, Wenn die Sonne untergeht (1901).
