Likimani, Muthoni (c. 1940–)

Kenyan novelist and poet. Born c. 1940 in Marang'a District, Kenya; dau. of Levi Gachanja (one of the 1st ministers of the Kenyan Anglican church).

Worked as teacher, nutritionist, social worker, broadcaster and journalist; represented Kenya at several United Nations conferences and received National Council of Women of Kenya Award; writings include They Shall be Chastised (1974), What Does a Man Want? (1974), Shangazi na Watoto and Passbook Number F47927: Women and Mau Mau in Kenya (1985).
