Hawaiian-American dancer. Born 1915 in Hawaii; died Dec 10, 1978, in Hawaii.
One of the few individuals responsible for the survival of the sacred hula ceremony, danced and taught the chant-accompanied hula throughout life; appeared on several tv programs as well as in the documentary films Hula Ho'olaule'a (1960) and Iolani Luahine: Hawaiian Dancer (1960).
