Russian runner. Born Jan 17, 1968, in Achinsk, Siberia, USSR; children: Anastasiya (b. Mar 1995).

Won gold medals for 1,500 meters and 800 meters at Atlanta Olympics (1996); at European championships, won a gold in the 1,500 meters (1998); at World championships, won a gold in the 1,500 and a bronze in the 800 meters (1999).
