African-American runner. Name variations: Jearl Miles-Clark. Born Jearl Atawa Miles, Sept 4, 1966, in Gainesville, FL.

At Barcelona Olympics, won a silver medal in 4×400-meter relay (1992); at World championships, won the 400 meters (1993); won US Outdoor 400-meter championship (1993, 1995, 1997, 2002) and 800-meter championship (1998, 1999); won US Indoor 800 meters (2001); won a gold medal at Atlanta Olympics (1996) and at Sydney Olympics (2000), both for the 4×100-meter relay.
