American diarist. Name variations: Anna Rawle Clifford. Born c. 1757 into Quaker family in Philadelphia, PA; died 1828; dau. of Rebecca Warner and Francis Rawle; stepdau. of Samuel Shoemaker (prominent Loyalist); m. John Clifford; children: Rebecca.

A Loyalist who kept a diary during the American Revolution, also recorded her outrage over the persecution of Loyalists in Philadelphia after Cornwallis' surrender (Oct 1781) in letters to her mother and stepfather.
