Sewell, Mary Wright (1797–1884)
English author. Born Mary Wright in England, 1797; died 1884; dau. of John Wright (Quaker); m. Isaac Sewell (bank manager), 1819; children: Anna Sewell (1820–1878, writer); Philip Sewell (b. 1822).
Wrote verses and stories of a moral nature, including her poem collections Stories in Verse (1861) and Poems and Ballads (1886).
