Russian literary critic, translator and memoirist. Name variations: Mariia Konstantinovna Tsébrikova; used 11 pseudonyms. Born 1835 in Russia; died 1917.

Translated works from German, French, English, and American literature and history; edited children's magazine and wrote about education, women's rights, and class; printed abroad "Open Letter to Alexander III" (1889), about conditions under his reign; worked tirelessly for women's rights and was exiled for criticism of Alexander and descriptions of repressive conditions in Russia.
