New Zealand singer and entertainer. Name variations: Ann Day, Annie Thatcher. Born Ann Day, c. 1837 (baptized May 7, 1837, in London, England); dau. of Francis John Day (merchant) and Margaret (Tilley) Day; m. Giovanni Whittle Vitelli, 1855 (died 1859); m. Charles Robert Thatcher (singer, died 1878); children: (1st m.) 1 daughter; (2nd m.) 2 daughters.

Toured throughout Australia and New Zealand as Madame Vitelli, performing romantic opera and singing lyrical ballads; thought to have returned to England.
