Wilson, Ruth (1919–2001)
Canadian athlete. Born 1919 in Calgary, British Columbia, Canada; died in 2001 in Vancouver; m. Art Willoughby (killed 1942).
Won the Vancouver junior girls' singles and doubles tennis titles (1936); won four Canadian women's basketball championships as a guard with the Vancouver Hedlunds (1943–46); played catcher in two Women's World Softball Series (1943, 1945); was a four-time member of women's inter-provincial golf championship team; coached women's basketball for 35 years, including the Canadian bronze-medal basketball team at Pan American Games (1967).
