Brunton, Louisa (c. 1785–1860)

English actress. Name variations: Countess of Craven. Born Louisa Brunton around 1785; died in 1860; married William, 1st earl of Craven, 1807.

Famed for her remarkable beauty, Louisa Brunton made her debut as an actress as Lady Townley in Provoked Husband and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing in 1803. Brunton became countess of Craven upon her marriage to William, first earl of Craven, in 1807, then retired from the stage.
