Ernesaks, Gustav (Gustavovich)
Ernesaks, Gustav (Gustavovich), Estonian composer and conductor; b. Chariu, Dec. 12, 1908; d. Tallinn, Jan. 24, 1993. He was a pupil of A. Kapp at the Tallinn Cons. He subsequently was active as a composer and conductor. Among his works were several operas, music for films and plays, choruses, and songs.
