Old-fashioned small town romance based on Ketron's play “The Trading Post.” In 1966, Reece McHenry (Shepard) decides to open a used clothing store in his Tennessee hometown and hires widowed seamstress Carol Fitzsimmons (Keaton) to help him out. Reece is married but his wife is in an irreversible coma and soon the aw-shucks storekeeper is interested in romancing his new employee. Meanwhile, Reece's son Tom (Patrick) and Carol's daughter Katherine (Lane) have also discovered a reciprocated love. However, neither romance runs smoothly. 108m/C VHS .
