d’Ambrosio, Alfredo
d’Ambrosio, Alfredo, Italian teacher and composer; b. Naples, June 13, 1871; d. Nice, Dec. 29, 1914. He was a pupil of Bossi (composition) at the Naples Cons., of Sarasate (violin) in Madrid, and of Wilhelmj (violin) in London. He settled in Nice as a violin teacher. Among his works were an opera, Pia de Tolomei, a ballet, Ersilia, 2 violin concertos (1904, 1913), a String Quintet, a String Quartet, and many violin pieces.
