Gagliano, Giovanni Battista da
Gagliano, Giovanni Battista da, Italian singer, instrumentalist, and composer, brother of Marco da Gagliano; b. Florence, Dec. 20, 1594; d. there, Jan. 8, 1651. He pursued his career in Florence, where he carried out the duties of maestro di cappella at the court and cathedral from 1643. He was a composer of sacred music.
