Vibert, Nicolas
Vibert, Nicolas, French violinist and composer; b. c. 1710; d. Paris, Aug. 16,1772. He pursued his career in Paris. In 1752 he joined the 24 Violons du Roi. After playing in the orch. of the Opéra-Comique (from 1753), he became a supernumerary violinist in the Opéra orch. (1757). He also was 1stviolinist in the orch. of the Concert Spirituel (1760-63). Vibert was a composer of several fine sonatas.
