Middle-class Nick Guest (Stevens) is befriended at Oxford by wealthy Toby Fedden (Coleman), whose father Gerald (McInnerney) is a rising Tory politician in Thatcher's Britain of the 1980s. Guest moves into the family's London home—in part to keep an eye on Toby's troubleprone sister Catherine (Atwell). Scandals eventually catch up with both Nick and the Feddens. Based on the novel by Alan Hollinghurst. 180m/C DVD .
