Two Can Play That Game
Two Can Play That Game ★½ 2001 (R)
Upwardly mobile Shante (Fox) seems to be the fountain of knowledge for her romantically challenged girlfriends Diedre (Mo'Nique), Karen (Robinson) and Trayce (Jones) on the subject of how to keep a man in line. When she sees her boyfriend Keith (Chestnut) grinding on another woman at a nightclub, however, her credibility takes a blow. She decides on a 10-day plan of action to force Keith back under her thumb. Clued in by his worldly wise buddy Tony (Anderson), however, Keith is well versed in the battle tactics of the opposite sex. Familiar material (director Brown also wrote “How to Be a Player”), spotty performances and the incessant narration by Fox's character make this a game you may want to quit halfway through. 90m/C VHS, DVD .
