Brixi, Viktorin (Ignać)
Brixi, Viktorin (Ignać), Czech organist and composer; b. Plzeň, June 26, 1716; d. Poděbrady, March 30, 1803. He began his musical training with his uncle, Viktorin Zádolský, the Skalsko parish priest. After further studies with Josef Hojer, the Ćelákovice organist, he completed his education at the Piarist Gymnasium in Kosmonosy. He settled in Podëbrady as a schoolmaster, where he later was organist and choirmaster at the church. Brixi composed mainly sacred music.
