Deslandres, Adolphe - Edouard - Marie
Deslandres, Adolphe - Edouard - Marie, French organist and composer; b. Batignolles, Monceaux, Jan. 22, 1840; d. Paris, July 30, 1911. He was a pupil of Leborne and Benoist at the Paris Cons., and in 1862 was appointed organist at Ste.-Marie. He wrote the opéras Dimanche et lundi (1872), Le Chevalier Bijou (1875), and Fridolin (1876), as well as Ode a I’harmonie, La Banque brisee, a patriotic dirge, Les Sept Paroles, and many sacred choruses.
