Hamerik (real name, Hammerich), Ebbe
Hamerik (real name, Hammerich), Ebbe, Danish conductor and composer, son of Asger Hamerik and nephew of Angul Hammerich; b. Copenhagen, Sept. 5, 1898; d. there (drowned in the Kattegat), Aug. 11, 1951. He studied with his father and with Frank van der Stucken. He was active mainly as a conductor. He held the post of 2nd conductor at the Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen (1919–22) and conductor of the Copenhagen music society (1927–31) and the State Radio Sym. Orch.
