Juozapaitis, Jurgis

Juozapaitis, Jurgis, Lithuanian composer; b. near èiauliai, June 29, 1942. He studied with Juzeliunas at the Lithuanian State Cons, in Vilnius, graduating in 1968. His music is rooted in native folk modes, which are enhanced by a modernistic harmonic investiture and a rich employment of polyrhythmic percussion.
