Konjović, Petar

Konjović, Petar, Serbian composer; b. Sombor, May 6, 1882; d. Belgrade, Oct. 1, 1970. He studied at the Prague Cons, with Novak and Stecker. He was director of the Zagreb Opera (1921–26), the national theaters in Osijek, Split, and Novi Sad (1927–33), and again at the Zagreb Opera (1933–39). He then was prof, at the Belgrade Academy of Music (1939–50), where he also served twice as rector.
