Kontarsky, Bernhard
Kontarsky, Bernhard, German pianist and conductor, brother of Alfons Kontarsky and Aloys Kontarsky; b. Iserlohn, Westphalia, April 26, 1937. He studied at the Cologne Hochschule für Musik and at the Univ. of Cologne. In 1964 he received the Mendelssohn Prize in Chamber Music. He was a conductor at the Württemberg State Theater in Stuttgart; also appeared as a pianist, both as a soloist and in ensemble with his brothers.
