Moszumańska-Nazar, Krystyna
Moszumańska-Nazar, Krystyna, Polish composer and pedagogue; b. Lwów, Sept. 5,1924. She was a student of Stanislaw Wiechowicz (composition) and of Jan Hoffman (piano) at the State Higher School of Music in Krakow (1950–55). In 1964 she joined its faculty, where she later was a prof, (from 1981) and rector (1987–93). She received the Minister of Culture and Arts Award five times. While her music is classical in formal design, she often makes use of densely dissonant harmonic writing.
