Novák, Vítězslav (b Kamenice, Cz., 1870; d Skuteč, 1949). Cz. composer. Prof. of comp. Prague Cons. 1909–39, influencing and teaching many Cz. composers. His early works were Brahmsian in style but he became more nationalist under the influence of Janáček.
