Palsa, Johann

Palsa, Johann, esteemed Bohemian horn player; b. Jemeritz, June 20, 1752; d. Berlin, Jan. 24, 1792. He received training in Prague, and by 1770 he was in Paris, where he performed in duos with Carl Türrschmidt. They also were members in the private orch. of the Prince of Monaco. In 1783 they joined the orch. of the Landgrave of Hessen-Kassel. After appearing in London in 1786, they joined the Berlin court musical establishment the same year.
