Plakidis, Peteris

Plakidis, Peteris , Latvian composer; b. Riga, March 4, 1947. He graduated from the Latvian Cons. in Riga (1970), where he studied composition with V. Utkins and Gederts Ramans and where he taught from 1973. He also was secretary of the Latvian Composer’s Union (1978–84; from 1989). In 1990 he made a tour of the U.S. as harpsichordist of the Latvian Chamber Orch.
