Revutsky, Lev(ko Mikolaievich)
Revutsky, Lev(ko Mikolaievich) , Ukrainian composer; b. Irshavetz, near Poltava, Feb. 20, 1889; d. Kiev, March 31, 1977. He went to Kiev and studied with Glière at the Cons. (graduated, 1916). From 1924 to 1941 he taught at the Musico-Dramatic Inst. In 1957 he was elected to the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. He composed music for the theater, films, and radio, as well as 2 piano concertos (1914, 1934), 2 syms. (1916–21; 1926–27), and choral pieces.
