Sartorius (real name, Schneider), Paul
Sartorius (real name, Schneider), Paul, German organist and composer; b. Nuremberg (baptized), Nov. 16, 1569; d. Innsbruck, Feb. 28, 1609. He studied with Lechner in Nuremberg, then went to Rome for further study. He was organist at the court chapel of Archduke Maximilian II of Austria in Mergentheim, Franconia (1594–1602) and in Innsbruck (1602–09).
