Tomasi, Biagio
Tomasi, Biagio, Italian organist and composer; b. Comacchio, near Ferrara, c. 1585; d. Massafiscaglia, near Ferrara, 1640. He was a student of Girolamo Belli in Argenta. In 1609 he became cathedral organist in Comacchio. He also pursued the study of theology and took holy orders. He later served as a canon and director of music at the collegiate church in Massafiscaglia. Tomasi publ. 5 vols. of sacred and secular music (Venice, 1611-35).
