SIDELIGHTS: James Bentley is an experienced travel writer who specializes in European villages. The Most Beautiful Villages of the Dordogne, for instance, introduces readers to the French region named for the river that flows through it. Booklist's Brad Hooper praised the "buoyant text" that describes the area's local cuisine and dramatic history, while The Most Beautiful Villages of Tuscany allows for "incomparable vicarious travel," according to Hooper. To Live in France takes the reader beyond Paris to travel from village to village. As Hooper declared in another Booklist review, the book "beckons us to stay a while to appreciate the geographical and cultural diversity that is la belle France."
