SIDELIGHTS: Edward H. Drummond told CA: "I have long been troubled that, although there is a great deal of information about mental-health issues in the media, much of it is one-sided, distorted, or just plain wrong. My purpose in writing is to educate readers about psychiatric problems and treatments so that they are better able to make sensible choices about their care. I have focused my books on the issues involved in using psychiatric drugs because tens of millions of people are using them and need accurate information. My books fall into the self-help genre: they provide the pros and cons of medications and how to use them to best advantage."
