SIDELIGHTS: Kate Dunn once told CA: "I began writing during breaks between employment as an actress. With the birth of my son I took to writing full-time. My first book was a novel based on events that involved a member of my family in Wales during the 1840s. After that I edited the wartime correspondence of my grandparents, playwrights Hugh and Margaret Williams. I am currently specializing in oral history of British theater and television, but I aim to return to fiction in the future. Somebody once said that you should only be a writer if you can't not be one: that's my motivation. I write six hours per day, five days per week."
