Born c. 1927, in Granger, IA; died of cancer, August 9, 2006, in San Francisco, CA; married Norma Chappell, c. 1949; children: Kathy Kohls Wizowski. Education: Drake University, graduated; Columbia University, M.A., 1960; New York University, Ph.D., 1963.

CAREER:

Representative of the Mennonite church in Korea, 1953; U.S. Peace Corps, Washington, DC, trainer of volunteers; U.S. Information Agency, Washington, DC, worked as director of training. Dominican College, San Rafael, CA, professor of intercultural management; San Francisco State University, San Francisco, CA, professor of international relations and international business and director of international programs. Global Vision Group, senior research fellow; Meridian International Center (some sources cite Washington International Center), Washington, DC, executive director. Creator of a boys' orphanage in Taegu, Korea, 1950s; founder of middle school, high school, and vocational school in Korea; representative of Christian Children's Fund in Seoul, Korea, and throughout Southeast Asia and India; founder of Global Indian Workshop, Global Adjustments, 2005. Military service: U.S. Army; served in Korea during World War II.
