In her book, The Wise Inheritor: A Guide to Managing, Investing, and Enjoying Your Inheritance, Perry covers in depth issues related to dealing "efficiently with an inheritance, be it in cash, securities, real estate, or other intangibles," Drezen remarked. Perry offers tips on handling practical matters, such as broaching and discussing the inheritance topic with elderly relatives, identifying obvious and hidden assets, deciding how estates will be split up among recipients, distributing heirlooms, and dividing up family businesses. She also stresses the critical importance of executing the proper paperwork, from inventories of assets, to powers of attorney, to correctly prepared wills.
