SIDELIGHTS: Xiufang Wang told CA: "I believe that everyone can write a book about his or her own specialty if he/she loves his/her work and is passionate to become a creative expert in the field. Over two decades, I have been working in the education field in both China and Canada. As a university professor, college administrator, international-training-program developer, and a researcher in the field of educational globalization, I regard education as a lofty and sacred career—the excitement and enthusiasm toward educational undertakings motivate me to write. I have strong feelings about the advantages and disadvantages of both the Chinese and Western education systems and cultures. Sharing these feelings with the general public pushes me to pick up my pen to draw outlines for a series of books.
Life and work provide rich and varied source materials for my writing. As an educational professional, I want to provide bridging expertise to readers who hope to take advantage of both Chinese and Western education systems and cultures. I will continue to write in this direction during my lifetime. I will try to write both fiction and nonfiction in the future. It is my expectation that people will be motivated to initiate multiculturalism and be proud of becoming world citizens by reading my books."
