caprenin Poorly absorbed fat, two medium‐chain fatty acids (capric and caprylic) and one very long‐chain fatty acid (behenic) esterified to glycerol; used as a fat replacer. Behenic acid is poorly absorbed and caprenin yields only 5 kcal/g, compared with 9 kcal/g for normal fats.
