Kleanthis, Stamatis (1802–62). Greek architect, a pupil of Schinkel. With Eduard Schaubert (1804–68) he produced a plan for the development of Athens in 1832 which contained important suggestions for the preservation of ancient monuments, but private interests frustrated its implementation. He designed the Byzantine Museum, Athens (mid-C19).
