Ricchino, Francesco Maria
Ricchino, Francesco Maria (1583–1658). Leading Lombard architect of the early Baroque period. His Church of San Giuseppe, Milan (1607–30), was designed with a main octagonal space, a square presbytery, and an aediculated façade, all of which anticipate later churches in Central Europe. The concave façade he designed for the Collegio Elvetico, Milan (1627), is one of the first in Italy, while the cortile of the Palazzo di Brera, Milan (1651–86) is also a distinguished design.
