Description:

State-supported, 2-year, coed. Awards certificates, transfer associate, and terminal associate degrees. Founded 1965. Setting: 60-acre urban campus. Total enrollment: 22,927. Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 21:1. 5,140 applied, 100% were admitted. Full-time: 6,893 students, 57% women, 43% men. Part-time: 16,034 students, 61% women, 39% men. 1% from out-of-state, 8% Native American, 42% Hispanic, 3% black, 2% Asian American or Pacific Islander, 0.2% international, 54% 25 or older, 8% transferred in. Retention: 51% of full-time freshmen returned the following year. Calendar: trimesters. Academic remediation for entering students, ESL program, services for LD students, advanced placement, distance learning, double major, summer session for credit, part-time degree program, adult/continuing education programs, co-op programs and internships.
