Eligibility Requirements: Open to high school seniors interested in attending college. While the foundation does not target any specific ethnic group, the majority of the recipients come from urban minority groups. The first step in the application process is to find a sponsor, who will then submit part 1 of the preliminary application. If selected for the next stage, students submit part 2 of the application, as well as financial, academic, and any other necessary documentation. References are contacted and the candidates are interviewed. From this group, finalists are selected. Selection is based on financial need, desire to achieve, and academic performance (generally a GPA of 3.0 or higher). Eligibility Requirements: This program is open to high school seniors who are BPA members with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must have held a chapter, state, or national BPA office and received the Ambassador Torch Award. Along with their application, they must submit 1) a 1-page resume of activities involving both BPA and other school and community activities; 2) letters of recommendation from their chapter advisor and 2 other individuals; 3) a high school transcript; and 4) a 1-page essay on where they see themselves professionally in 10 years. Selection is based on academic success and involvement within BPA. Deadline for Receipt: March of each year.
