Graduate Student Scholarships (Postgraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To facilitate the renewal of the community of Ca-nadianists by supporting the work of young scholars. Focus: Canadian studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a student in the social sciences or humanities who are in the process of preparing a graduate thesis or doctoral dissertation in Canada; must obtained the support of a faculty member at a Canadian university who has agreed to act as the student’s academic sponsor. Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated based on the clarity of the proposal and its methodology, the proposal’s potential contribution to knowledge in its field; must demonstrate the need for the research to be carried out in Canada and by the strength of the letter of support. Nominations will be evaluated and ranked by the adjudication committee appointed by the International Council for Canadian Studies.

Funds Avail.: $3,500. Number Awarded: 12. To Apply: Applicants must submit a two-page proposal outlining the thesis/dissertation project; must have the official university transcript, letter of support from the student’s member in a Canadian university indicating his/her willingness to act as the student’s academic sponsor.
