Channabasappa Memorial Scholarships (Graduate, Professional Development/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide assistance for graduate students to further their education in subjects related to desalination. Focus: Science; Engineering; Engineering, Hydraulic; Water resources. Qualif.: Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited university; must be from the top 10% of the class in science or engineering; must prove admission to a graduate program in desalination/water re-use; must demonstrate leadership and achievement potential. Criteria: Applicants will be selected based on the undergraduate transcript, references and motivation for a career in desalination.
Funds Avail.: $10,000 maximum per student. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form available at the website; a transcript of undergraduate academic record indicating grade point average or rank in the class; four letters of recommendation, one from a director or a distinguished IDA member; a description of the applicant’s objectives and plans for graduate study; an evidence of other sources of funding to complete the applicant’s degree objective; proof of acceptance to a graduate program at an accredited university; a faculty sponsor statement indicating the nature and scope of the research. IDA Fellowship Award (Professional Development/Fellowship)
Purpose: To promote development in the desalination and water reuse industry. Focus: Science; Engineering; Engineering, Hydraulic; Water resources. Qualif.: Applicants must be an IDA member; have 8-10 years working experience in the field of desalination or water reuse. Criteria: Applicants will be selected based on the following: high professional achievements; relevance of the experience; responsible career goals for advancement in the chosen field; potential to make a contribution and water reuse; benefits of the attachment to the applicants; assurance that the applicant will remain connected to the desalination water-reuse industry through future work.
Funds Avail.: $10,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; a single copy of resume/
curriculum vitae; a fellow’s proposal (single copy, maximum of five pages, double-spaced); two letters of recommendations from either of the advisors, instructors or individuals who know the applicant’s work and personal character. Letters should be sealed in an envelope, signed across by the recommender. Finalists will be interviewed by the selection Committee. Deadline: April 1. Contact: Patricia Burke, [email protected].
