Lee S. Evans/National Housing Endowment Scholarship (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To address the need for educating and training construction managers in the residential building industry. Focus: Construction. Qualif.: Applicant must be registered as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student for the Fall term; must have at least one full academic year of course work remaining after the scholarship is awarded; must demonstrate interest in obtaining employment in the residential construction industry upon graduation. Criteria: Selection criteria include financial need, career goals, academic achievement, employment history, extra cur-ricular activities and recommendations; preference is given to students who are current members (or will be members in the upcoming semester) of a student chapter of the National Association of Home Builders; preference is also given to students enrolled in a four-year program emphasizing construction.
Funds Avail.: Up to $5,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form available at the website; transcript(s) and course requirements; and recommendations. Herman J. Smith Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To address the need for educating and training construction managers in the residential building industry. Focus: Construction. Qualif.: Applicant must be registered as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student; must have at least one full academic year of course work remaining after the scholarship is awarded; must be majoring in construction management, mortgage finance, or a construction related field in an accredited 4-year institution; must demonstrate an interest in obtaining employment in the construction industry, mortgage finance, or a construction related field upon graduation. Criteria: Selection criteria include financial need, career goals, academic achievement, employment history, extra curricular activities and recommendations; preference will be given to applicants who are legal residents of Texas, or juniors or seniors who attend an institution in Texas.
