Dr. Roger E. Meisner Veterinary Medicine Educational Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote veterinary medicine and quality animal care through communication, fellowship and professional growth. Focus: Veterinary science and medicine. Qualif.: Applicants must be students who have graduated from North Dakota High School and have been accepted in a college of veterinary medicine in North America. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on need and motivation.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form and a statement of less than one page of their reasons for choosing veterinary medicine as a career, plans and extracurricular activities.

North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote veterinary medicine and quality animal care through communication, fellowship and professional growth. Focus: Veterinary science and medicine. Qualif.: Applicants must be students pursuing a career in veterinary medicine who graduated from North Dakota High School; must be residents of North Dakota for two years prior to application; must be enrolled in the professional school of any accredited college of veterinary medicine in North America. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need and an expressed interest in returning to North Dakota to practice veterinary medicine.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; must send references, and residency verification for those applicants who have not applied before for the NDVMA scholarship. Deadline: May 15. Contact: [email protected].

Dr. William “Tim” Whalen Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote veterinary medicine and quality animal care through communication, fellowship and professional growth. Focus: Veterinary science and medicine. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents of North Dakota or Clay County for at least one year prior to scholarship application; must be accepted in the professional school of any AVMA accredited college of veterinary medicine in North America. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit: completed application form; a typed and short autobiography including educational objectives, veterinary-related work experiences, career plans and other activities, awards, honors and special interests; college transcript; three references; verification of one year residency; and verification of acceptance to veterinary school.
