Cemanahuac Educational Community Scholarships (Other/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the teaching of Spanish in the United States. Focus: Education, Bilingual and cross-cultural; Foreign languages. Qualif.: Applicants must be full-time teachers in a public or private school, at any level; must teach in the Northeast Conference region (CT, DE, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, VA, WV, DC); must carry a teaching load of at least 50% Spanish classes; and have attended at least one Northeast Conference. Criteria: Selection is based on merits and the need for an experience in Mexico.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants

must submit a completed application form with a one-page resume in English; a 200-word statement in English; and a recommendation letter in a signed and sealed envelope, from the department chair, principal or dean. Qualif.: Candidates must be foreign language teachers who demonstrate leadership potential at their schools, colleges or universities. Criteria: Selection is based on work experience and merits.

Funds Avail.: No amount specified. To Apply: Candidates must submit a completed application from; a resume or curriculum vitae (maximum of two pages); a letter of nomination (maximum of two pages) from the nominating body declaring the leadership potential of the candidate; and a written commitment containing a draft of specific plan of action. Deadline: December 1.
