The Ginny Frankenthaler Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To recruit beginning professional librarians who have potential for leadership and have made a commitment to service in the libraries of the Southeastern United States; to provide financial assistance towards the completion of their graduate degree in library science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association. Focus: Science. Qualif.: Applicants must be completing their senior year at an accredited college or university or be graduates of such an institution; must be accepted as students in a degree program accredited by the American Library Association; must be ready to begin the program of study no later than the fall term of the year in which the scholarship is awarded; must indicate their intention to complete the degree requirements within three years; must maintain a “B” GPA throughout the program and must agree to work within one year following the graduation from library school. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance, financial need and interest in work and study related to library science.
Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit an official application form, three letters of acceptance from a library school accredited by the American Library Association, three letters of reference sent directly by the references, and an official transcript of all academic works. Deadline: May 1.
