Description: Independent Roman Catholic, comprehensive, coed. Awards bachelor's and master's degrees. Founded 1853. Setting: 100-acre small town campus. Endowment: $34.9 million. Community Environment: Pretty in its rural setting, Antigonish lies 140 miles from Halifax and each July hosts the Highland Games, a kind of Olympics of the Clans.
